All interested students must have completed their sophomore year.  This internship program runs Monday through Friday for nine weeks.  Interns will participate in a Museums Studies curriculum.  This curriculum includes collection tours with curators, department orientations, field trips, and seminars, all taking place on Mondays.  Tuesdays through Fridays are spent in departmental placements.   Administration and Curatorial Department Interns are placed according to departmental needs. Past summers placements have involved the following:  Development, External Affairs, Library, Marketing, Public Relations and the Registrar.  The Curatorial Department includes the following: Costume & Textiles, European Painting, Indian and Himalayan Art, and Modern and Contemporary Art.

All interns for the summer of 2006 will receive a stipend of $1000.

  • Two letters of recommendation from college professors
  • Resume
  • One page essay describing your interest in the internship, career goals, and your skills that would contribute to the program
