The Bucks County Adult Probation and Parole Department provides services for the courts and community based supervision of offenders placed under their jurisdiction. Internship opportunities are available for Spring, Summer or Fall semesters.   Although most placement available are in the Supervision Units, working with Probation/Parole Officers as they perform their normal duties, a limited number of internships are possible in special program or research related areas.

Internships are unpaid and require a minimum of 8 hours per week.  Intern responsibilities include supervisory tasks such as observation of Probation and Parole Officers, initial interviewing, individual counseling, specialized counseling, and observation of hearings.  Investigative and evaluative tasks responsible for iunclude assistance with pre-parole investigations, special investigations and pre-sentence investigations.  Administrative duties include completion of surveys, research and other tasks as assigned. Each student will be supervised by a Probation/Parole Mentor, who will provide orientation, guidance and support.
